Beginning as an exploration of interlocking forms, this project evolved to include a material study of the ABS plastic used to fabricate the pieces. Experimenting with the dimensions and overall shape allowed me to create a satisfying tactile connection within the constraints of both the material and the layering process used to produce it.

Although the two identical pieces here join completely with one another (suspending the third in between), they could also be arranged end-to-end to resemble the links of a chain, which provided the main inspiration for their form.
