An opportunity to design a product and brand for an underserved ‘tribe’ of users, the Haven dining lamp embodies and enhances the spontaneous, communal atmosphere of underground supper clubs. Like the restaurants themselves, it pops up to fill a small space and shares its light only with those who know where to look. Upon entering a supper club—likely within a private home—guests receive Haven lamps from the host to place on their tables. As each lamp twirls open, its glow intensifies to welcome the guests and signal the beginning of an extraordinary meal.
Mirrored panels capture the light of a single LED, focusing it outward through a translucent perimeter of cedar veneer.
